Abstract

Thrift shopping has become a trend because it is accompanied by an increasingly consumptive society, when people's prestige is more advanced, shopping becomes a lifestyle. Many factors are considered by consumers in purchasing decisions for thrifting shops that influence consumer behavior are divided into two, namely external environmental factors and internal factors. The phenomenon of thrift shopping becoming a trend today is inseparable from a person's lifestyle, where the high prestige of consumers makes consumers tend to be consumptive towards a brand. The research was completed quantitatively using a survey method, using a questionnaire as a tool to obtain data, and survey questions will be shared online using Google Sheets. The sampling technique in this study used non-probability sampling, with an accidental sampling technique for 106 respondents. The internal factors of thriftshop consumer purchasing decisions in this study are: Fashion lifestyle and motivation. External factors on thriftshop consumer purchasing decisions in this study are: Promotion, Price and Brand Image. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS 23 to measure the influence of Fashion lifestyle, Motivation, Promotion, Price and Brand Image variables on thriftshop consumer purchasing decisions on FEB UNSOED students. The results of the study using ordinary least squares regression with SPSS 23 showed that there was a positive influence between promotion and brand image on thriftshop consumer purchasing decision variables for FEB UNSOED students. Then there is a negative effect between the price variable on the purchasing decision of thriftshop consumers for FEB UNSOED students. Meanwhile, the fashion lifestyle and motivation variables had no effect on the purchasing decisions of thrift shop consumers of FEB UNSOED students.
