Abstract

Decision making in stock investment has various influencing factors such as information, news, politics, issues, rumours, security, external factors such as global markets, and consideration of investor confidence to invest in the capital market, especially stock investment. Fluctuating stock growth will affect the number of investors involved. The number of millennial investors has also increased every year. The millennial generation has a considerable interest in investing compared to other generations. Millennials or generation Y are people born in 1980-1995. Z generation is a generation that is known to be more familiar with digital technology, so it is known as the internet generation. These factors encourage Z generation to access information more easily and Z generation to become young investors. This study aims to examine and analyze the behavior of individual investors, especially the millennial generation and Z generation, in making stock investment decisions from the aspects of knowledge, accounting literacy and perceptions of behavioral control. The population in this study is members of RHB (Rashid Hussein Bank) securities which are the millennial generation and Z generation. With a sample of 161 people. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of a questionnaire or questionnaire. The validity test of the questionnaire using the SPSS 16.0 calculation will be compared with the r table value at 5% significance and the reliability test is calculated using Cronbach alpha. The research data analysis technique is multiple linear regression to test the research hypothesis using the t test and f-test using the SPSS software application. From the results of hypothesis testing (t-test) the results show that there is a positive and significant influence between knowledge, accounting literacy and perceptions of behavioral control on investment decisions. So, it can be said that the hypothesis is accepted.
