Abstract

One of the short films uploaded by @NITVShort entitled "The Silent Child" produced by Rachel Shenton became the object of translation in line with the purpose of this job training. The short film has not yet had Indonesian-language subtitles, whose Indonesians will extend the reach of the Indonesia audience. The short film gives beneficial for parents of children with disabilities and public schools that are unfriendly to children of disabled children. Observation is the method used to summarize the accomplishments of this short film. This translation process goes through three stages: analysis, transfer, and restructuring. In the translation process of the short film "The Silent Child" used 11 translation techniques. The techniques used are Borrowing, Calking, Descriptions, Linguistic Amplification, linguistic Compression, Literal Translation, Modulation, Reduction, Transposition, Variation. Literal translation is the most widely used technique in the translation process because of the many dialogues delivered literally. As for the constraints that the translation process encounters, the timely completion of the dialogue, the conversations too fast, the difficulty of finding the equivalent word. The solution is managing time, listening carefully, consulting with a supervisor. Translation methods and techniques play an important role in the translation process to improve good translation results. The things required in working on the job training report are intention, motivation, rigour, logical and critical thinking skills.
