Abstract

Liveworksheets.com is a new digital learning media to assess students' learning activities. This research aimed to: (1) investigated the students’ perceptions toward the use of liveworksheets.com as media in learning English for reading comprehension in eighth-grade at SMPN 4 Purwokerto in the academic year of 2023/2024; (2) identified the benefits of using liveworksheets.com as media in learning English for reading comprehension that eighth-grade students received at SMPN 4 Purwokerto in the academic year of 2023/2024.; and (3) explored the difficulties in using liveworksheets.com as media in learning English for reading comprehension that eighth-grade students faced at SMPN 4 Purwokerto in the academic year of 2023/2024. The researcher employed a descriptive-qualitative design. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview, and document collection. From the total population of 288 students, 34 students were selected as the research samples. They were chosen using purposive sampling technique. The result of this research revealed that: (1) students had positive perception toward the use of liveworksheets.com as media in learning English for reading comprehension; (2) there were seven benefits that students received when they used liveworksheets.com as media in learning English for reading comprehension; (3) there was no difficulties that students faced when they used liveworksheets.com to learn English for reading comprehension, but this research found that there were three problems happened during the implementation of liveworksheets.com as learning media in class. The researcher encouraged teachers to make sure to check and evaluate the worksheet before distributing it to the class. The researcher recommended students to prepare their phones to use in class. In order to gain deeper understanding, researchers who are interested in conducting research on the same problem are suggested to read a wide range of books on the subject.
