Abstract
This thesis, which entitled “Conversation Analysis of Turn-Taking Strategies in A YouTube Interview Video entitled The Klan Comes to Town”, discussed the application of turn-taking strategies by the participants in the interview video. This research aims providing explanation about the application and functions of turn-taking strategies. This research uses qualitative method. A YouTube interview video entitled The Klan Comes to Town (2013) is used as the data for this research. The writer uses the turn-taking strategy theory proposed by Stenström. As a result, the dominant use of turn-taking strategies in this interview is prompting technique which belongs in the sub class of yielding the turn strategy. The prompting technique is mostly used to ask for clarification and information.
