Abstract
In the midst of the current development of the digital economy, financial literacy and payment methods are an important part of merchant profits. Financial literacy includes the ability of merchants to manage their own finances, such as making the right financial decisions, saving, and managing their cash flow. Financially aware merchants tend to be better able to manage risk and optimize capital, which can increase income. The use of non-cash methods such as e-wallets, QRIS, and bank transfers is increasing. These methods make transactions easier and attract more consumers, especially those who are already familiar with digital technology. The combination of financial literacy, various payment methods can have a significant impact on the success of traders' businesses at Pasar Manis Purwokerto. Therefore, it is important to examine the influence of these factors on traders' income in facing the challenges of the modern era. This study uses primary data obtained by distributing questionnaires to traders at Pasar Manis Purwokerto. The population in this study was 178 traders, with a sample of 124 respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The research location was chosen because Pasar Manis has become a pilot project in the implementation of non-cash payments using QRIS, which allows comparison between merchants using cash and non-cash payment methods. Based on the data obtained from this study, the results show that financial literacy, cash payments, and non-cash payments simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on merchant income. Partially, each variable also has a significant effect on income, with financial literacy helping better financial management, cash payments providing fast liquidity, and non-cash payments expanding customer reach and accelerating the transaction process. The implication of this study is that merchants are expected to be able to improve their understanding of financial literacy and adopt more diverse payment methods to increase income. In addition, this study also provides recommendations for stakeholders, such as the government and financial institutions, to continue to encourage financial education and the implementation of digital payment technology to support economic growth in the traditional trade sector.
