Abstract
During a three-month job training at Yogyakarta International Airport (9 September–9 December 2024), the main project was translating an e-book titled Jogja Renaissance into English, aimed at enhancing the airport’s international image and commitment to global accessibility. The translation process followed Suryawinata’s four-stage framework: analysis, transfer, restructuring, and evaluation/revision—and was supported by methods such as observation, literature review, interviews, and hands-on practice. To preserve accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness, the writer applied nine translation techniques: literal translation, borrowing, transposition, modulation, amplification, reduction, equivalence, established equivalent, and adaptation. Several challenges emerged, including limited vocabulary, forgetting relevant college materials, and difficulty maintaining cultural nuances due to unfamiliarity. These obstacles were overcome through self-directed learning on cultural expressions and revisiting academic resources in translation and tourism.
