Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of socio-technical systems (STS) in optimizing employee performance under conditions of limited human resources and high workloads. The study focuses on the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb)'s Central Java Regional Office. Using a quantitative approach and a survey method, the study examined 44 employees and tested three key variables: STS, workload, and employee performance. The results revealed that STS positively and significantly affects employee performance. While workload also significantly affects performance, it does not moderate the relationship between STS and performance. These results suggest that improving socio-technical integration within public institutions can enhance performance, even when workload conditions are high. Therefore, organizations are advised to strengthen the alignment of technology and human resources to increase productivity and reduce burnout.
