Abstract

Writing is recognized as one of the most challenging language skills to master due to its various intricate components, the ability to write effectively is becoming increasingly crucial in our global culture. The general concern on this research is teaching writing invitation letter. Teachers' expertise and professional development are crucial in preparing students to become proficient in writing. Teacher training programs and field experiences, such as the pre-service teacher program (PLP), plays a vital role in preparing future educators. The main concern on this research is teaching writing invitation letter for 11th students at SMK N 1 Purwokerto. Because of this condition, the researcher conducted the research with aimed to find out the preparation, implementation, and problems faced by the teacher. Thematic Analysis was used in this research. The subject of this research was a teacher from SMK 1 Purwokerto. The researcher used interview to gather the data. The instruments of this research were interviews and document analysis. Narrative inquiry is the method of this research. The findings of this research are as follows: (1) The preparation before teaching on invitation letter was well prepared. (2) The implementation while teaching invitation letter was involving explanation of general structures and incorporating various practices using popular applications that were applied on SCL model. (3) For the problem faced there were six, namely complex language and vocabulary, structure and rule, differences in etiquette and tone, contextual experiences, motivation and engagement, and time constraints. In summary, this research emphasizes the importance of a well-prepared and flexible approach to teaching writing, with an emphasis on particular problems and student participation. Continuous teacher growth and the use of current teaching approaches are crucial to the success of writing education, particularly in complicated areas such as invitation letter writing
