THE INFLUENCE OF STUDENTS’ LEARNING STYLES ON THEIR ENGLISH ACHIEVEMENT (A correlative Study of the 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Purwokerto in Academic Year of 2022/2023).Thesis. Supervisors: (1) Slamet Riyadi, S.S., M.Pd. (2) Novita Pri Andini, S.Pd, M.Pd. External Examiner: Dian Adiarti, S.Pd., M.Hum. Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Jenderal Soedirman University, Faculty of Humanity, Language Education Department, English Education Study Program, Purwokerto. This research mainly focuses on describing the influence of students’ learning styles on their English Achievement mainly in visual and auditory styles of 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Purwokerto in the academic year 2022/2023. The methodology used in this research is mixed-method. The populations in this research were 7th-grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Purwokerto. This researcher used purposive sampling, where the researcher determined a special characteristic in choosing the sample. The researcher used a questionnaire, documentation of students’ English scores, an interview and SPSS 29 program to collect and analyze the data. The results of this research show 24 or (66, 7%) students with auditory learning styles and around 12 or (33, 3%) students with Visual Learning style preferences. The mean score of student’s English achievement was 85, 92 which is interpreted as a "Very High" indicating that students have high achievement in learning English and students’ Learning styles were 75, 33 with a maximum questionnaire score of 83 and a minimum score of 67 considered as "Good" it means that students know exactly their own preference. The correlation coefficient (rxy) 0.449** at the 0.01 level (2-tailed) and lay on the interval 0.40-0.599 interpreted as Medium correlation and the level of probability (p) significance 0.006 was less than 0.05 (p<0.05) with significance level in 5% It is also said that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. The conclusion of this research is, the most dominant learning style used was auditory learning styles and there were significant correlations between students’ learning styles on their English Achievement.
